Alexandra Rose Raisman was born on May 25, 1994 in Needham, Massachusetts. She won two gold medals at the 2012 London games. Raisman trained alongside 2008 Olympian Alicia Sacramone. Raisman was a member of the 2011 World Championship team that won the gold medal. On July 1, 2012, Raisman was named to the 2012 USA Gymnastic Olympic team. On July 31, 2012, Raisman and her teammates became only the second American team to win a team gold medal. Raisman won the bronze medal on the balance beam and the gold on the floor exercise during the event finals. Raisman was the captain of the women's team.
