Annia Portuondo Hatch was born on June 14, 1978 in Guantanamo, Cuba. Hatch was a member of the 2004 USA Olympic team where she won silver medals in the women's artistic gymnastics team competition and vault events. Hatch was a seven time Cuban National champion and even qualified to represent Cuba as an individual at the 1996 Olympic Games but was unable to attend due to funding. Hatch moved to the USA in 1997 and became a citizen in 2001. Hatch and her husband now operate Stars Elite Gymnastics in West Haven, Connecticut.
