Anthony Ervin is a swimmer who has competed for the United States. He competed at the 2000, 2012, and 2016 Summer Olympic Games.

Ervin started his Olympic career in 2000, when he tied for the gold with his teammate Gary Hall in the 50 metres freestyle. He also swam the lead-off leg with a split of 48.89, the second fastest behind Michael Klim's world record time of 48.18, before he handed his teammates Neil Walker and Jason Lezak their relay duties at the upcoming exchanges. As Hall dove into the pool at the final exchange, Ervin saw him lead almost the entire leg of the race until the home favorite Ian Thorpe passed Hall at the closing stages to touch the wall first for the Australians with a new world record time (3:13.67). Ervin and the rest of the U.S. men's team settled only for a silver.

Ervin stopped swimming competitively three years later and auctioned off his Olympic gold from Sydney 2000 on eBay to aid survivors of the 2004 tsunami in Indonesia. Twelve years after his debut, he returned to his second Games in 2012, but he slipped off the podium to fifth in his pet race with a time of 21.76. At his third Olympics in 2016, he reclaimed his title in the 50 metres freestyle sixteen years after his first to become the oldest male champion in Olympic swimming, aged 35.
