Chellsie Marie Memmel was born on June 23, 1988 in West Allis, Wisconsin, USA. Memmel was a member of the 2008 USA Olympic team where she won a silver medal in the women's gymnastic team competition, despite breaking a bone in her ankle while training in Beijing. Memmel was an alternate for the 2004 gymnastic team. Memmel attempted to make the 2012 team but fell twice at the US Secret Classic, and was not selected to compete at the National Visa Championships.
Memmel announced in November 2012 that she is retiring from competitive gymnastics.
