Cheng Fei was born on May 29, 1988 in Huangshi, Hubei, China. Fei was a member of the Chinese Women's Gymnasics team that won the team gold medal in 2008. Fei also won two bronze medals in vault and balance beam at the 2008 Olympics. Fei was a member of the 2004 Chinese Olympic team though she did not medal. Fei retired from competitive gymnastics in June 2012 due to injury.
