Christopher Clark Burckle Jr. was born on February 23, 1988 in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. Burckle has qualified to represent the USA in 200 meter breaststroke at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Burckle competed for the University of Florida before transferring to the University of Arizone his senior year. Burckle's sister Caroline Burkle won the bronze medal in the 4 x 200 meter freestyle at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
