Elizabeth Beisel was born on August 18, 1992 in Saunderstown, Rhode Island. Beisel won a silver medal in the 200 meter backstroke, and a bronze medal in the 400 meter individual medley, at the 2012 Olympics. Beisel was also a member of the 2008 USA Olympic team.
