Evgeni Plushenko is a figure skating competing for Russia. Plushenko is the 2006 Olympic gold medalist and 2002 and 2010 silver medalist. Plushenko is the only Russian male competing in the men's single field. After the 2010 Olympics, Plushkeno has lost his eligibility to compete due to participate in events not approved by the Russian Figure Skating Federation. Plushenko was able to appeal and was later reinstated.  Plushenko skated in the team event at the 2014 Olympics helping Russia win the gold but withdrew from the men's single event due to injury.
