'''[[Finland]]''' first participated at the '''[[Olympic Games]]''' in 1908, and has sent athletes to compete in every [[Summer Olympic Games]] and every [[Winter Olympic Games]] since then. Finland was also the host nation for the [[Helsinki 1952|1952 Summer Olympics]] in [[Helsinki]].
+
Finland has won over 500 medals at the [[Summer Olympic Games]] and the Winter Olympic Games, and it has won a medal in every edition it has competed in, with most medals in athletics (of which 12 by Paavo Nurmi), wrestling, and cross-country skiing.

  +
The Finnish Olympic Committee was created and recognized in 1907.
Finnish athletes have won a total of 300 medals at the Summer Games, mostly in [[athletics (sport)|athletics]] and [[amateur wrestling|wrestling]]. Finland has also won 151 medals at the Winter Games, mostly in [[nordic skiing]] events.

==Medal Table==
The [[National Olympic Committee]] for Finland is the Finnish Olympic Committee, and was created and recognized in 1907, when Finland was a part of the [[Russian Empire]].

<nowiki>*</nowiki>Total medal counts include a gold medal awarded in the [[Figure skating at the 1920 Summer Olympics|figure skating]] events at the [[1920 Summer Olympics]]. This medal is included in the summer games medal totals and the winter sport medal totals. This is why the totals for summer and winter games do not match the totals for summer and winter sports.
