 Gabrielle Douglas has won 2 gold medals at the Olympic Games 


Gabrielle Christina Victoria Douglas was born on December 31, 1995. Douglas started Gymnastics in 2002 at the instance of her sister, Arielle, who told their mother that Gabby would make a good gymnast. Douglas represented the USA in 2011 at the World Gymnastics Championships in Tokyo, Japan where the team would the gold medal in the team event. In 2012, Douglas came in second place at the National Visa Championships behind teammate Jordyn Wieber by just .2 points. On July 1, 2012, Douglas secured her spot on the USA Olympic team by coming in first at the Olympic trials. Douglas and her teammates won the team medal on July 31, 2012 becoming only the second American team to win the title. Two days later, Douglas won the individual all-around title becoming the first American to win both the team and all-around titles.

Douglas has a new book out called "Grace, Gold and Glory, My Leap of Faith, chronicling her journey towards Olympic gold and why she almost quit gymnastics.
