Gregor Schlierenzauer, most known as Schlieri, is a famous Austrian ski jumper. His story of success started right after he joined the World Cup in 1996, at the age of sixteen. He immediately won his first Sunner Grand Prix event as a member of Team Austria, and a few months later he won his first individual World Cup event. His third World Cup season brought him an overall victory. By 2014, being 24 years old, Schlieri holds a number of records in ski jumping: World Cup event victory record (52), season victory record (13), World Flying Cup record (3) and Austrian national record (243,5 m). He is considered the most successful ski jumper of all times.
At the Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Schlierenzauer was twice the bronze medalist in individual event and once the gold medalist as a part of Team Austria, alongside with Wolfgang Loitzl, Andreas Kofler and Thomas Morgenstern. In Sochi 2014, he achieved a silver medal in team event, alongside with Morgenstern, Thomas Diethart and Michael Hayboeck.
