Israel first participated at the Olympic Games in 1952. It has also competed in several editions of the Winter Olympic Games, the first time being Lillehammer 1994.

Israel has won a total of 13 medals in almost half of them in judo, and the rest divided over five different sports, with Gal Fridman being the only Israeli athlete to have won more than one medal.

The Olympic Committee of Israel was created in 1933 and recognized in 1952.
