In 2004 Lezak won gold and silver medals. In 2008, Lezak swam the anchor leg of the 4 x 100 meter freestyle relay, where he was able to overtake Alain Bernard of France in the closing seconds for the gold. He was also a member of the gold medal winning 4 x 100 medley relay team. Lezak again qualified to swim in the 4 x 100 meter freestyle relay in London, and won a silver medal.
