Kara Lynn Joyce was born on October 25, 1985 in Brooklyn, New York, USA. Joyce was a member of the 2000, 2004 and 2008 USA Olympic teams. Joyce will also be a member of the 2012 team after qualifying for the 50 meter freestyle. Joyce attended the University of Georgia where she was a NCAA champion in the 50, 100 and 200 meter freestyle events and was an All-American.
