Kathleen Genevieve Ledecky was born on March 17, 1997 in Washington, D.C. and currently living in Bethesda, Maryland, USA. Ledecky was a member of the 2012 USA Olympic team where she competed in the 800 meter freestyle event and won. Ledecky is the youngest competitor on Team USA. Ledecky became the youngest gold medal winner since 1996 when she won the 800 meter freestyle event.
