Kieren Perkins is a swimmer who has competed for Australia. He competed at the 1992, 1996, and 2000 Summer Olympic Games.
In 1992, he arrived at his first Olympics as a medal favorite in long-distance freestyle swimming. He set a new world record time (14:43.48) to claim his gold in the 1500 metres freestyle. Earlier in the meet, he finished second behind Evgueni Sadovyi in the 400 metres freestyle by 0.16 of a second.
Perkins defended his 1500 metres freestyle title four years later in Atlanta. His streak for a third consecutive victory in the program's longest race dashed when his teammate Grant Hackett surpassed him to win the gold medal in Sydney 2000, with Perkins relegating to silver.
