Larisa Latynina is a gymnast who competed for the Soviet Union at the 1956, 1960 and 1964 Olympic games. Latynina won eighteen medals over the course of the three Olympics she competed in, which was a record until 2012 when Michael Phelps surpassed it. Latynina won the all-around title in 1956 and 1960 and team titles at each Olympics.
