Lilia Podkopayeva is a gymnast who has competed for Ukraine. She competed at the 1996 Summer Olympic Games.
In the all-around final, Podkopayeva performed gracefully on her floor exercise routine at the last rotation that garnered the highest mark of the competition, beating the Romanian gymnasts Gina Gogean, Lavinia Miloșovici, and Simona Amânar for the gold medal. She finished second behind the American favorite Shannon Miller on the balance beam and comfortably scored another victory on the floor exercise with a 9.887. Podkopayeva became the first gymnast to capture the women's all-around title without a team medal and the last to dominate both the all-around and a single apparatus final until Simone Biles attained the feat two decades later.
Podkopayeva officially retired from competitive gymnastics in 1997, citing serious injuries.
