Max Whitlock is a gymnast who has competed for Great Britain. He competed at the 2012, 2016, and 2020 Summer Olympic Games.
Whitlock is highly regarded as the most successful gymnast in the nation's Olympic history with a total of six medals (three gold and three bronze). After receiving two bronze medals at London 2012, he entered his second Olympics in Rio de Janeiro four years later as a potential medal contender in numerous apparatus routines. He claimed the country's first medal for more than a century with a bronze in the individual all-around final and eventually set a historic milestone as the first-ever British gymnast to win an individual Olympic gold medal, dominating both the pommel horse and floor exercise routines within a two-hour span.
At his third Olympics in 2020, Whitlock returned to successfully defend his title in the men's pommel horse, becoming the third gymnast in the event's history to attain the feat since Miroslav Cerar in 1968 and Zoltán Magyar in 1980.
