Melissa Jeanette Franklin was born on May 10, 1995 in Pasadena, California, USA. Franklin will be a member of the 2012 USA Olympic team after qualifying to compete in 100 and 200 meter freestyle, 100 and 200 meter backstroke and the 4 x 100 and 4 x 200 meter freestyle relays.
