A National Olympic Committee, or NOC, is responsible for the preparation and training of Olympic athletes for competition. Also, NOC's are responsible for promoting candidate bids for cities. However, an NOC is not as heavily involved in the execution of the Olympic Games. That task is left for the Olympic Games Organizing Committee.
