Natalie Anne Coughlin was born on August 23, 1982 in Vallejo, California. Coughlin has been a member of the 2004, 2008 and 2012 USA Olympic teams. Coughlin has won a total of twelve medals between three Olympic games. Coughlin appeared on season nine of Dancing with the Stars. Coughlin swam in the 4 x 100 freestyle relay event in 2012, winning a bronze medal.

Coughlin married Ethan Hall in April 2009.
