Four years later in London, Izbasa was favored to retain her floor exercise title but a fall on her final tumbling pass dropped her spot to last of the eight-woman field in the final. She contributed her remarks on the floor and the vault to repeat a third-place feat from Beijing for the Romanian women in the team all-around final. She rebounded from her technical error on the floor exercise to claim another gold of her career in the women's vault with a score of 15.191.
