Silvia Stroescu was born on May 8, 1985 in Bucharest, Romania. Stroescu was a member of the 2004 Romanian Olympic team where she won a gold medal in women's artistic gymnastic team competition. Stroescu was not originally selected as a member of the 2004 team but ended up replacing an injured Aura Munteanu.
