Synchronized Swimming is the only discipline of Aquatics that is only practiced by women. It has changed its program only once, by removing a solo event that had been featured until the 1992 Summer Olympics. Russia has grown to be a dominant nation in this discipline, winning every gold medal ever since the 2000 Summer Olympics. However, Japan has won more medals, winning 4 silver and 10 bronze medals.
