The Democratic Republic of Timor Leste competed at the Olympic Games under its official name in 2004, with its National Olympic Committee established a year earlier. Previously, East Timor athletes attended as part of the Indonesian team (1976–1996) and the Individual Olympic Athletes team in Sydney 2000. Currently, no athlete from Timor Leste has ever won a single Olympic medal.
