Vivian Jepkemoi Cheruiyot is a track and field athlete who has competed for Kenya. She competed at the 2000, 2008, 2012, and 2016 Summer Olympic Games.

Cheruiyot was highly regarded as one of the most decorated female long-distance runners in Olympic history, winning a total of four medals (a gold, two silver, and a bronze). She started her Olympic career as a 17-year-old in 2000, finishing last among the top-fifteen finalists in the 5000 metres. She narrowly missed the podium eight years later in Beijing and ended her twelve-year-old medal drought to capture a silver in the 5000 metres and a bronze in the 10000 metres at London 2012.

Rio de Janeiro 2016 turned to be the most crucial moment for Cheruiyot, as she extended the gap from the rest of the runners by a 50-metre advantage to claim her first gold medal under a new Olympic record in the 5000 metres. She also added a silver to her career medal haul in the 10000 metres a few days earlier, trailing her Ethiopian rival Almaz Ayana by more than 15 seconds.
